Thursday, May 2, 2013 The Camden-Wyoming Fire Company is pleased to announce the first crab feast of the year on June 15th 2013 from 6 pm until 9 pm. All you can eat Blue Crabs, shrimp, hot dogs, burgers and beer! There will be live entertainment, door prizes and 50/50. There will also be a raffle for a Remington Shotgun! Thursday, May 2, 2013 Last evening, 22 members of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company trained at the DSFS Dover division. Members extinguished live fires, performed search and rescue operations and ventilation techniques. Crews participated in structural firefighting evolutions tonight at the Delaware State Fire School. Thanks to everyone that came out. If you couldn't make it this week, we'll be training next week. Same time, same place!

Thursday, March 14, 2013 16:06 Station 41 was alerted to a working structure fire at approximately 16:06 hours. Engine 41-3 with Chief Rigsby in command arrived on scen to find smoke showing. Firefighters stretched two 1 3/4 hand lines to work interior and roof operations to extinguish the fire, which had extended from the trailer where the fire started to an additional roof structure between the two dwellings. Units remained on scene for approximately 2 hours. Station 41 was assisted by Rescue 55 & Ambulance 55 and the Delaware State Fire Marshall's office.One resident sustained burns and a family pet perrished in the late afternoon fire.
Saturday, February 23, 2013 Firefighters responded to two mvc'c on Willowgrove road one on Thursday night involving and Chrysler minivan colliding with a train, Deputy Chief J. Semans had command the second mvc occurred on Friday when a Dodge Neon left the roadway striking a utility pole and snapping it off. Willowgrove as close for a shot time as the utility pole had to be replaced.
Sunday, February 17, 2013 On March 23, a few Camden-Wyoming firefighers will be participating in a dodgeball tournament to raise money for Special Olympics Delaware. Assistant Chiefs Sean Byron and Robin Andino, Captains Dan Diaz and Brandon Jarboe and Firefighters Jared Boesenberg and Robbie Snyder will be the members of the 6 man team. Friday, February 1, 2013 11:01 am At 11:01 am this morning the station was alerted for a vehicle fire at the Camden Walmart. While enroute to the scene units could see heavy black smoke from a distance. Once on location it was determined that the vehicle was actually a mid-size tractor there to remove the new fallen snow from the parking lot. Asst Chief Sean Byron had command of the scene and units remained on scene for a short time. The tractor sustained heavy damage. Command was terminated and all units retured to the station.
Saturday, January 26, 2013 10:00 This morning the Barclay Farms Homeowners Civic Association held a breakfast for Camden-Wyoming firefighters. The Barclay Farms community experienced a tornado on September 3, 2012 which resulted in the damage to several homes within the subdivision. The community as a whole was very thankful for the work that everyone did to help them in their time of need and served breakfast as a token of appreciation to those involved. Thursday, January 10, 2013 19:00 At 19:00 hours Station 41 was alerted for a MVC with one subject reported trapped. As with all entrapment incidents, Kent County Paramedics as well as aviation were added to call also. Rescue 41 went responding at 19:04 under the direction of Chief Rigsby with a crew of 5. Upon arrival of the Rescue, Chief Rigsby assumed command and the crew from Rescue 41 began extrication of the trapped patient. Rescue 41s crew removed the driver side door to make access to the patient. The crew then packaged the patient for the responding BLS unit. Command placed the situation under control at 19:22 hours with all fire apparatus clearing the scene a short time later. All units went in quarters at 19:35 hours. Units on scene: Rescue 41, Engine 41-1, Ambulance B-41, Kent Medic 5, DE State Police and DE State Fire Police. Story by R. AndinoPhotos by M. Steindl
Thursday, January 10, 2013 The Camden-Wyoming Fire Company last evening signed a contract with Winstead's Fire Equipment for the production and purchase of a 2013 International Terrastar Custom Works ambulance. This unit will be replacing a 2002 Ford E-450 Horton ambulance. We are expecting delivery in mid May, stay tuned for production progress pictures!
