Rollover MVC with entrapment

Thursday, December 12, 2013  At 13:23 hours Kent County Communications (Kent Center) alerted station 41 for a motor vehicle collision with rollover and one subject trapped. Rescue 41 went responding a short time later under the command of Asst. Chief Andino and a crew of 4. Upon arrival of Rescue 41 the crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle and began putting tools in service. The drivers door was removed a short time later. EMS was able to stabilize the patient in the vehicle. Once the patient was removed crews assisted DSP with clearing the roadway. Kent County Paramedic Supervisor Mike Bishop handled the care and transport for the patients involved that were in the other vehicles. All units cleared at 14:08. Units on scene- Rescue 41, Engine 41-1, DNREC 3, Ambulances- A41, B41, A63 and A55, Kent Medics 5 and 7

MVC with entrapment

Tuesday, October 29, 2013  On October 29th, the station was alerted to Upper King Road for a MVC with entrapment. 41-22 (Wothers) arrived on scene and found a single vehicle into a pole with heavy entrapment. On the arrival of Rescue 41, crews used a combination of rescue tools to free the trapped occupant. Once the occupant was free, she was loaded onto Trooper 4 and transported by air to Christiana Hospital.


     



 

Ambulance A41 nearing completion!!!

Thursday, June 20, 2013   Ambulance A41 is almost complete. It is in the final process of the build.  Members of the committee are flying to Georgia on July 10th for the final inspection and to bring it home.

     



 

Working commercial/ apartment building fire

Friday, June 14, 2013 03:13 At 03:13 Station 41 was alerted for a working building fire on Millchop Ln in the area of Woodville Dr.  41-3 went responding at 03:17 with 41-15 (Chief Rigsby) on board and a crew of 7.  Shortly after the truck left the station 41-22 went on scene confirming a working alarm and advising the building was heavily involved.  Chief Rigsby then requested the alarm be upgraded bringing in Ladder Company 46 (Dover), RIT/Tanker Co 55 (Magnolia), and Tanker Company 48 (Felton).  At 03:23 41-3 arrived with conditions as reported and Chief Rigsby assumed Millchop Ln command.  The crew from 41-3 went to work placing two 1" 3/4 handlines in service as well as one 2" line.  An aggressive interior attack was made on the first floor commercial structure while a second line was placed in service on the second floor apartment making an exterior attack.  Engine 41-1 arrived shortly after and its crew extended an additional line into the front door of the commercial structure.  At this point 55, 48 and 46 units arrived and also assisted with fire attack where necessary.  Engines from 56 and 54, who were originally covering Station 41, were also called in to assist at the scene.  The fire was placed under control at 04:10 and an extensive overhaul was performed.  All units were back in quarters at 06:03.    

Units on scene- Engines 413, 411, 554, 463, 482, 545 and 561.  Tankers 41 and 485.  Ladder 461.  DSFP, DSFMO, DEC and DSP.

Spring Crab Feast!!!!

Thursday, May 2, 2013   The Camden-Wyoming Fire Company is pleased to announce the first crab feast of the year on June 15th 2013 from 6 pm until 9 pm. All you can eat Blue Crabs, shrimp, hot dogs, burgers and beer! There will be live entertainment, door prizes and 50/50. There will also be a raffle for a Remington Shotgun! Live Fire Training

Thursday, May 2, 2013  Last evening, 22 members of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company trained at the DSFS Dover division.  Members extinguished live fires, performed search and rescue operations and ventilation techniques. 

Crews participated in structural firefighting evolutions tonight at the Delaware State Fire School. Thanks to everyone that came out. If you couldn't make it this week, we'll be training next week. Same time, same place!





     



 

New Ambulance Update

Thursday, May 2, 2013   The chassis for the new ambulance has arrived and the box is starting to be built.  Keep an eye up for further updates!

     



 

House Fire Millchop Lane

Thursday, March 14, 2013 16:06 Station 41 was alerted to a working structure fire at approximately 16:06 hours. Engine 41-3 with Chief Rigsby in command arrived on scen to find smoke showing. Firefighters stretched  two  1 3/4 hand lines to work interior and roof operations to extinguish the fire, which had extended  from the trailer where the fire started to an additional roof structure between the two dwellings.  Units remained on scene for approximately 2 hours.

Station 41 was assisted by  Rescue 55 & Ambulance 55 and the Delaware State Fire Marshall's office.

One resident sustained burns and a family pet perrished in the late afternoon fire.
