Wednesday, December 16, 2009 -
At 1204 yesterday, The Felton Community Fire Company along with a tanker company from Harrington was dispatched to 1045 Black Swamp Road for a reported working house fire. Engine 48-1 arrived on scene at 1214 and found a large house with fire and smoke from the rear of the structure. 48-18 (Moore) established command and immediately requested another tanker company and tower company. Camden-Wyoming was dispatched for a tanker company assist at 1225. Crews on scene experienced issues with water due to no hydrants and the travel time for the tanker companies. Command placed the situation under control at 1333. All 41 units cleared the scene at 1422 with the last remaining fire apparatus clearing at 1521. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation by the State fire marshal’s office.
