Friday, May 28, 2010 - On the morning of May 28th, 2010, Camden-Wyoming Firefighters, along with Ambulance 55 (Magnolia), KM 7, KM 5 and Trooper Medics were dispatced for a report of an MVC with a subject trapped on South Dupont Highway and Thomas Harmon Drive, in front of the Camden Walmart. Deputy Chief Tom Rigsby(41-16) arrived minutes later and established Command. After a quick size up of the incident, which involved three cars, a tractor trailer and a used cooking oil truck, negative entrapment was advised. Rescue 416 arrived a minute later and stretched an attack line to protect the scene as well as began assisting with patient care. Command requested an additional BLS unit along with DNREC, DEL DOT and the Haz Mat unit from station 48 (Felton). Ambulance 48(Felton) arrived and transported the final patient to the hospital while Fire Department crews assisted DNREC with clean up. Command placed the incident under control and turned operations over to Camden PD, DNREC and DEL DOT.
